Is Exchange Server mandatory for offline clients? In the case of Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook with Offline Access can we use POP3 server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-Mail router with Forward Mailbox option or E-mail Router option?

Using CRM Online 4.0 - The problem I have is workflow emails clog up my Outlook since they are always sent from me to other users. And if I'm not logged in to Outlook, nobody gets workflow emails. How can I make outgoing workflow emails work with POP3 email like Gmail, so I can assure workflow emails are being sent irregardless of whether I'm logged in to my Outlook?

CopenhagenCRM,

How were you ableto configure the Outgoing POP3 email? I was also using Gmail's smtp.gmail.com server but it keeps failing as an unrecognized server. Can you tell me what you did to make the outgoing email work?

Trying to install the Email Router and running into the following issue when performing the configuration:

Email Router Configuration Manager- Explains that it cannot connect to the CRM website. http://crmserver:5555/orgname are all correct. I've tried multiple ways to try and get this to work, any ideas?

I've also copied the full CRM link after logging into CRM, which includes the /loader.aspx at the end of the link.

Running out of options. Can't get past this simple step to try and use SMTP
